Crown Royal's origin story is intertwined with Canadian hospitality. In 1939, Samuel Bronfman, head of Seagram company, created a special blend of Canadian whisky to commemorate the first-ever royal visit to Canada by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. The whisky, bottled in a luxurious purple pouch and topped with a regal bag, was meant to embody Canadian excellence for the distinguished guests. The name "Crown Royal" reflects this tribute, and while initially exclusive to Canada, Crown Royal's smooth taste and regal presentation have since won over whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
