Since 1903, the Pelissa family has been stewards of the land, committed to sustainable cultivation through five generations. Ghost Block Estate Wines embodies this legacy, merging our rich heritage with a forward-looking promise to future generations.

The fruit for this blend is sourced from both our Block House and Mill Race Vineyards in the Yountville appellation of Napa Valley. Block House is a 292-acre  vineyard that contains 14 different varietals. This vineyard tends to benefit from the cooling winds originating from San Pablo Bay. The row orientation for this vineyard is Northeast-Southwest. Chockablock utilizes Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon from Block House. Mill Race is a 35.57-acre vineyard located across the Napa River from Block House. The Cabernet Sauvignon planted at this vineyard is also incorporated into this blend. The growing degree days accumulated by Mill Race are typically 10% higher than at Block House. Mill Race also has a North-South row orientation, exposing the fruit to more sunlight, resulting in a different style of Cabernet Sauvignon compared to Block House. Both of these properties are family-owned and certified-organic.

'Chockablock' opens with vibrant aromas of ripe red cherries and  juicy plums. On the palate, it offers a smooth, silky texture, enhanced by refined tannins that provide a luxurious mouthfeel. Oak aging contributes soft  notes of French vanilla and caramel, with subtle hints of cocoa that gracefully  complement the wine’s fruit-forward profile. With a medium to full body, the  wine shows depth and structure, while the finish is crisp, clean, and elegant.  This blend strikes a harmonious balance between ripe fruit, tannins, and oak,  showcasing a modern interpretation of Napa Valley’s rich terroir.
