Domaine Coche-Dury is widely regarded as one of the world's most revered white Burgundy producers, particularly for its exquisite Meursault wines. Under the leadership of Jean-François Coche-Dury and now his son Raphaël, the estate is renowned for meticulous vineyard management and a rigorous, traditional winemaking approach that emphasizes intensity, balance, and incredible aging potential. The wines, celebrated for their complexity and signature reductive style, have achieved cult status among collectors, commanding some of the highest prices in Burgundy.
Jean-Louis Peste was a doctor at the Hospices de Beaune for 30 years in the mid-19th century. His daughter, Baroness du Baÿ, bequeathed a vast estate to the Hôtel-Dieu in his memory, in 1924. Historically, this Cuvée comes from a blend of terroirs, mainly Les Chaumes, completed with Les Bressandes and Les Grèves.
Tasting Notes: A very solid dense purple black colour indicates a wine of considerable intensity. The fruit is luxurious in quality, definitely showing some black-fruit notes, and full enough to match the firm structure of the finish. This is a powerful Corton with a real cellaring potential.
