2012 Adelsheim Pinot Noir Bryan Creek Vineyard
Cépage: Pinot Noir (100%)
Size: 750 ml
Rating(s): 90 (RP)
" The 2012 Pinot Noir Bryan Creek Vineyard comes from the Chehalem Mountains at an elevation of 720 to 750 feet opposite the Adelsheim's Quarter Mile Lane vineyard. Their 2012 was destemmed and underwent daily punch-downs during cold soak and three times a day during alcoholic fermentation and subsequently saw 28% new oak for ten months. It has a generous bouquet with stony, black fruit and raspberry coulis aromas developing in the glass, opening and becoming potent with continued aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with tensile, almost edgy tannins and racy acidity. There is a slight brittleness to the texture, rather chalky with an unexpectedly reserved finish that is nicely poised, although I would have preferred a little more finesse."
